These terms cover publishing decks to Explore. Drawing and playing on your own device need no account and are not covered by anything below.
You keep the copyright in every doodle you draw. Publishing a deck does not transfer ownership and does not give us the right to sell your drawings, put them in advertising, or license them to anyone else.
Publishing grants two narrow permissions, and no others:
Other players may not reproduce, redistribute, print, sell, or otherwise use your drawings outside the app. Only the original author can export a deck's drawings as images.
Publish only drawings you made yourself. Do not publish anything that is sexual, violent, hateful, harassing, illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights. Do not use drawings to write out contact details, slurs, or messages aimed at another person.
There is no free text anywhere in Doodle Match — no titles, no comments, no chosen names — so the drawings themselves are the whole of what you publish. Your author name is generated for you.
Every published deck is checked automatically before it appears in Explore. Any deck can also be reported by any player, which hides it immediately while it is reviewed by a person.
We may hide, remove, or refuse any deck, and may suspend an account that repeatedly publishes content breaking these terms. You can take your own decks down at any time, from Account in the app (the person icon in Explore) or from the deck's own menu in My Decks.
Taking a deck down removes it from Explore. It is not a recall: copies other players already saved remain on their devices, and a screenshot anyone has taken is beyond anyone's reach. Consider that before publishing something you would not want copied.
When you publish, we record your account, the exact drawing data, and a server timestamp. If you ever need to show that you published a drawing first — for a takedown claim on another platform, say — email us and we will provide that record.
Enforcement outside Doodle Match is yours to pursue; what we can offer is the evidence. If you believe a deck in Explore infringes your rights, report it in the app or email us.
An account exists only if you have published something. You may delete it at any time from Account, or by following these instructions. Deleting your account takes down everything you have published.
The app is provided as is. We do our best to keep published decks available, but we do not guarantee that Explore, or any particular deck, will remain accessible. Keep your own copies of drawings that matter to you.
